The grand legacy of Northern Ireland’s musical output so reads thus forth The Undertones... Ok, so it doesn’t take much to earn a place on that ‘top five bands’ list but Two Door Cinema Club are a more than worthy addition to the club. Whilst their music follows the 2009 standard of indie-electro-pop, this band fall closer to the Passion Pit joy de vive side of things than the faux seriousness of La Roux. Upcoming single ‘Something Good Can Work’ is a carefree romp that bores into your brain like a drill made of candy cane. The same applies to tracks from their 2008 EP "Four Words To Stand On" ‘Do You Want It All?’ and ‘Hands Off My Cash, Monty’. In the best sense possible, Two Door Cinema Club remind me of The Wombats when I first heard them, good clean tongue in cheek fun. Let’s just hope the same fate of death by radio / releasing every song in their arsenal twice doesn’t await.

‘Something Good Can Work’ is released through iTunes on 16th March
