Midway through last week I was perusing the nme.com blog section and came across this list. It’s titled ‘The 100 Greatest Indie Rock Albums of All Time’ but may as well be known as ‘100 Albums That Justify My Lonely Childhood’, in that you probably won’t have heard more than a handful of them and if you have, living alone / at home during middle age won’t be an unfamiliar concept to you.
This list got me thinking that we’ve all got some skeletons in our musical closet and sometimes it’s just plain fun to pick up that Snow Patrol album and regress for a bit. The lowlight of my record collection isn’t featured on this mix, it’s just too damn awful but there are more than enough secret shames to compensate. Enjoy the mix.
