Kanye West - Gay Fish

I’m not the biggest South Park fan, most series seem to be hit and miss affairs, but when I heard that Matt Stone and Trey Parker had trained their satirical crossbows at none other than Kanye West, it seemed like a recipe for television gold. These guys have great form when it comes to mercilessly hammering the inflated ego’s of many a celebrity, see past “Tom Cruise is trapped in the closet” and P Diddy “Vote or Die” parodies.

The episode itself basically revolves a really bad joke that Kanye, in spite of his god given intelligence, just can’t fathom and he accordingly becomes a figure mockery for this shortcoming. However, instead of taking thing on the chin though, Kanye proceeds to hunt down the creators of the joke in order to gain retribution. The show’s best moment, comes courtesy of the fictional Kanye who shouts down an aide, who has tried to explain to him the pun, with the following: “I don’t need anyone telling me play on words, I’m a mother*cking lyrical wordsmith, motherf*cking genius!”

The episode culminates in the parody of ‘Heartless’ below but you can only really get it if you’ve watched the entire thing.

Predictably the joke remains on Kanye, who has replied on his blog with a statement including this line, “I JUST WANNA BE A DOPER PERSON WHICH STARTS WITH ME NOT ALWAYS TELLING PEOPLE HOW DOPE I THINK I AM. I NEED TO JUST GET PAST MYSELF. DROP THE BRAVADO AND JUST MAKE DOPE PRODUCT.”

I for one though, think music would be missing something if this messiah of bravado was lost. After all who can forget this moment of magic:
