
I should probably predicate this post with a summation of my previous opinion of The Horrors: God Awful! They were the definition of style without substance. A wall of noise without any tune, melody or lyrical prowess.
That was before I'd heard 'Sea Within A Sea' though... The track itself is taken from their forthcoming album 'Primary Colours', produced by Geoff Barrow of Portishead fame. It runs for a total of 8 minutes, beginning in the style of My Bloody Valentine before eventually disolving into a mesh of swirling Kraftwerkesque synths. I'm planning to keep my cynic mode on for now in case their sophmore LP does turn out to be as much of a mess as their first but consider me intrigued.
